Oleena Kolola Is a song writer, musician. She was born in a qarmak at Qipisa in December when families were still living in camps.

Moved to Niaqunnguut in 1964 by dogteam travelling from Qipisa while she was still in her mother’s amauti, with Grandparents mother’s side aunts and uncles and cousins.

She lives in Iqaluit, she has 2 daughters and 2 sons and 5 grandchildren Jamie, Anita, Maika, Lucy and youngest is Josiah. Oleena’s sons and daughters are musicians as well.
