Emerging Artists Produce Six New Songs with Twin Flames

Alianait organizers were thrilled to produce a Songwriters Workshop with award-winning artists Jaaji and Chelsey June of Twin Flames in March.  Thanks to funding from the Department of Culture and Heritage, six emerging Inuit musicians spent a week developing their songwriting skills.

And thanks to a great partnership with Qaggiavuut, they had a beautiful space to work in. Qaggiavuut also took professional photos including the one above and videoed each performer for their 'Red Wall Sessions'.

As a result of the workshop, each musician produced a new song, which was professionally recorded and videoed by Nuvu Studios and Qajaaq Ellsworth.

Alianait is proud to introduce these six new songs written by Igloolik's Lazarus "Mister" Qattalik, Rankin Inlet's Corey Panika, Kugluktuk's Gordon Kaniak, and Iqaluit's Mary Itorcheak, Leanna Wilson and Tooma Laisa.
