Timimie Gassko Märak
(Sápmi)
Timimie puts just as much in between the lines they write as in the words they choose to share. Like them, their poetry is a combination of deep roots and connections, read at a Big City pace. Speaker, poet and word weaver recently published in «Čatnosat. The Sámi Pavilion, Indigenous Art, Knowledge and Sovereignty» and the first to hold the title of "Poet In Residence" at the Venice biennale. Together with ‘The Sámi Pavilion’ curators Beaska Niillas and Liisa-Rávná Finbog, Märak is also one of the three founding members of Hásstuheaddji collective, a Sámi led think-tank that gather thinkers, performers and artists to dialogue and reflect.
No More Moments
(Calgary)
No More Moments is a fast-paced, no holds barred punk band from Sisksika Nation. Since 2009 they have been wearing their hearts on their sleeves and telling their stories with powerful guitars, explosive drums, and commanding vocals. Their unique perspective of punk helps them blend new and creative elements that keep things exciting with the familiar staples of the genre to ensure no listener is disappointed.
Noteven!
(Iqaluit)
Noteven! is a local band from Iqaluit who started playing together in 2022. We play classic inuktitut songs from the 80's and 90's and original songs written by front man Daniel Kolola who has released several songs through the Qilaut Inuktut songwriting contest. We also play with local accordion players to invite the whole town for a square dance party.
